Movie clip: New blade design

This movie clip shows just how much more efficient the new blades are compared to the previous design. The wind speed was very low when we took this movie: just 1.7 m/s! An electrical current was being generated, even at that low speed.

Fully-functional prototype

As a result of high levels of commercial demand, we’re currently working on a micro-turbine with a 500W output, though in the future other sizes of turbine would also be developed as the technology is scaleable.

Right: This is a fully-functional prototype of the Luethi Enterprises silent vertical axis wind turbine, measuring 1.5 m tall, with a diameter of 90 cm. It weighs approximately 50kg (without the mast).

This particular prototype has been sited on a farm in Nottinghamshire for three years, powering an LED streetlight non-stop. The wind turbine has survived numerous storms without sustaining any damage.
