New blade shape promises extra efficiency

The new, curved blades perform even more efficiently in low wind speeds than our previous design. In fact, we estimate that the increase in performance could be as much as 20%.

Movie clip: New blade design

This movie clip shows just how much more efficient the new blades are compared to the previous design. The wind speed was very low when we took this movie: just 1.7 m/s! An electrical current was being generated, even at that low speed. (19 seconds; 1.2MB, WMV format.)

SEEDA grant awarded

The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) awarded Luethi Enterprises a grant for research and development work. This will finance the creation of final prototypes and complete field trials of the silent wind turbine.

Silent wind turbine – a breakthrough in renewable energy

The silent wind turbine by Luethi Enterprises Limited is an innovative vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) for renewable energy production with many benefits over existing wind turbine designs.
